The project corresponds to the expansion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport (referred to as newLIM) and includes the implementation of the electrical power generation subsystem to ensure a reliable energy supply within the expanded airport infrastructure.
The generation system consists of a power plant equipped with generator sets from a globally recognized brand, delivering a total standby capacity of 22 MW. The units operate in parallel and are managed through a Master Generation Control System (MGCS), which includes a control panel engineered, manufactured, and commissioned by MG INDUSOL. This control panel manages multiple generator operating modes according to the control philosophy developed specifically for the project. An integrated Human-Machine Interface (HMI) enables comprehensive system monitoring and fully automated control.
In addition, the solution integrates associated infrastructure, including power and control panels, as well as advanced protection and synchronization systems to ensure safe, efficient, and optimized operation.
The project encompasses the design, engineering, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the power generation subsystem, with a strong focus on automation, supervision, and fault-response capabilities to ensure energy continuity in the airport’s critical areas during unforeseen events.
The system also provides backup and load support through a demand control logic designed to optimize the use of available generation capacity, improve fuel efficiency, and maintain adequate operational reserves.
