The Raura Plant project involved the design, manufacturing, supply, and integration of power switchboards and a highly reliable Master Generation Control System (MGCS) for the efficient management of generator sets. MG Indusol was responsible for the complete project lifecycle, including the electrical and control logic engineering of the control cabinet, manufacturing under stringent quality standards, and full system commissioning.
The developed system enables both automatic and manual generator management, ensuring uninterrupted power supply under normal operating conditions, fault scenarios, or maintenance events. The solution combines hardwired logic with advanced programming through SCADA systems and dedicated controllers, enabling functionalities such as energy source prioritization, electrical parameter monitoring, fault detection (including voltage, frequency, and other electrical protections), as well as generator alternation based on operating hours to optimize equipment utilization.
Additionally, the system incorporates Modbus RTU communication for remote integration between generator sets and the control PLC, as well as IEC 61850 protocol communication between the MGCS and the mining company’s SCADA system. This enables real-time visualization of operating status, alarms, and system performance, ensuring efficient control and supervision from centralized control rooms.
